Jesus Christ is one of the most well-known figures in the world, but what is known about Him is often misaligned with what scripture actually teaches. In John’s Gospel, we find a beautiful and clear picture of who Christ is and why it is important to know Him. Jesus praying in John 17:3 says, “And this is eternal life, that they know you the only rue God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” As John opens his gospel we see Christ as the Word that was in the beginning recalling the creation account in Genesis chapter one. This same Word was God and was with God. John continues to say that the Word became flesh and lived among us (v. 14) and we have seen His glory. Therefore, Jesus is God, who created all that exists. Do you see Jesus this way? Do you see Him in His glory? My prayer is that you would think about Jesus, who created the very womb from which He was born in order to die and atone for the sins of all who believe an watch this truth grab the root of your soul.
